The middle class expects a wave of bankruptcies at the latest after the upcoming federal election due to the increasing corona infections.
He expects a sharp increase in corporate insolvencies and a "massive loss of jobs", says the President of the Federal Association of Medium-Sized Enterprises, Mario Ohoven of the "Augsburger Allgemeine".
Ohoven also warned of a second lockdown: "That would be the economic meltdown for our country."
Medium-sized companies expect a "clear action plan" to relieve the burden on companies in order to promote investments and thus growth.
In plain language, according to Ohoven, this means: Abolition of the solos for everyone, lowering of the most expensive electricity tax at EU level and a uniform VAT rate of 15 percent in the long term.
The HDE trade association is also calling for a permanent reduction in VAT.
"The return to the old sentences at the turn of the year does not make sense from our point of view," says Stefan Genth, general manager of the trade association HDE, the "Welt".
Currently, many customers would avoid the city centers and the shopping spree in order to reduce contacts.
That is why consumption continues to need support.
"The lowered rates should be maintained until the pandemic is reliably overcome," said Genth.
