Île-de-France: the frequency of public transport could be reduced during off-peak hours, says Pécresse

The frequency of public transport in Ile-de-France could be reduced in the coming days at off-peak hours and on certain lines, to take into account the drop in attendance linked to the re-containment, the president of Ile-de-France said on Wednesday. -France Mobilités, Valérie Pécresse.

The frequentation of public transport in the capital region is three times higher than that of the first spring confinement, at about 30% of the level of the same period of 2019 since the beginning of the week, noted Valérie Pécresse.

However, it fell by half in a few days, since it reached 68% at the end of October before the announcement of the reconfinement.

Attendance remains relatively high during the morning rush hour (6 a.m. to 9 a.m.), at 50%, as well as in the evening.

risk of having sick people on certain lines

” among the operators, referring to the signaling station of the Gare Saint-Lazare which operates at slow speed because staff there are affected by Covid- 19.
