The frequency of public transport in Ile-de-France could be reduced in the coming days at off-peak hours and on certain lines, to take into account the drop in attendance linked to the re-containment, the president of Ile-de-France said on Wednesday. -France Mobilités, Valérie Pécresse.

The frequentation of public transport in the capital region is three times higher than that of the first spring confinement, at about 30% of the level of the same period of 2019 since the beginning of the week, noted Valérie Pécresse.
However, it fell by half in a few days, since it reached 68% at the end of October before the announcement of the reconfinement.
Attendance remains relatively high during the morning rush hour (6 a.m. to 9 a.m.), at 50%, as well as in the evening.

You have to see how things evolve.
(...) For the moment we are observing,
”noted Ms. Pécresse, who was speaking after a hearing with RATP and SNCF.
If the offer - reduced in the evening since October 28 due to a curfew - will remain unchanged in the coming days, IDFM is considering “
adjustments
” depending on the evolution of traffic, in consultation with user associations .

There is no question of touching peak hours

Valérie Pécresse was also worried about the “
risk of having sick people on certain lines
” among the operators, referring to the signaling station of the Gare Saint-Lazare which operates at slow speed because staff there are affected by Covid- 19.
