On three occasions in recent years, the European Commission has hit Google for non-compliance with competition rules.
The American firm had to pay a total of more than 8 billion euros in fines.
But what is the good, in the end, if anti-competitive behavior persists?
This is essentially the question asked by 135 web companies and around thirty sectoral associations to the European Commission in a letter made public on Thursday.
Among the signatories: accommodation and flight reservation sites (Booking.com, Expedia, etc.), price comparison sites (Kelkoo, etc.), recommendation sites (Tripadvisor, etc.), job offers (Stepstone, etc.) ) but also sectoral organizations such as associations of press publishers at European and Belgian level (Lapresse.be).
