Most students dream of the day after the end of the last semester, when they will be free from degree assignments and exams and will be able to enter the job market.
But this illusion often dissipates, and frustration grows.
A listener who aired on business coach Alon Gal's program on 103FM radio said that her degree is a combination of computer science and biology, which makes it difficult for her to focus on a specific field.
"I decided to look for a job in computers, I really like this field and feel it is very suitable for me to be a developer. I went to 6 job interviews, in all of them I worked the interpersonal stage and the stage of the task itself, writing code, I got stuck. Bioinformatics is not really Computer science and on the other hand the degree is terribly theoretical.I did not have enough knowledge that I acquired to know the tools that work with them today.I did not feel ready for these tests.
"There were 3 interviews since I passed the assignment, but there was someone who had more experience. I really want to work in this field, I set myself assignments, study this course, but do not do it. I lost motivation after the hard studies. There are not many jobs. "Inexperienced graduates, there are some jobs in every field so I do not know what to study and what not, if I concentrate on a certain field it may be difficult for me to find a job.

Alon Gal listened to her words, and offered her 2 options: "Study courses in computers in an orderly manner, you do not need a degree to learn specific things. Go to the relevant companies, find a developer who works with experience, present the whole dilemma as you presented, and they will tell you what is best for you to study At the same time, come to a start-up company and say ‘I want to come once a week to help, put me next to a volunteer volunteer, minimum wage, whatever you want.’ This will give you the background and also add to the client.
It's all 'networking and daring', there is nothing to do. "
The second option in his opinion is to continue in the academic studies for a master's degree in computer science:" A combination of the study track and the track of the internship.
A degree in computer science is a completely different story when it comes to finding a job after a degree.
You will be able to learn the profession, while volunteering at a start-up company or non-profit organization that sometimes needs help with developing interfaces.
I would suggest you contact people in the field for help, as people by nature like to help.
It compliments the people who ask them about the field, gives them a good feeling that they are valuable. "In
conclusion, Gal addressed the issue of the listener's motivation, emphasizing:" If this is what you want, stop being lazy and do it.
If this is the dream and this is what you want - I have no doubt you will succeed.
If you go through the interpersonal stage and some of the tasks, only a cent to a dollar is missing here.
Motivation is an internal matter, do you want to be a developer?
Go do what you have to do.
Sign up for a master's degree, you will find a job within a week or two.
There is no reason not to.
Stop complaining, it's irrelevant.
Introduce yourself so that you will not be told no. "
