French Delpharm will produce part of Pfizer and BioNTech's vaccines against Covid-19, the pharmaceutical subcontracting group announced on Wednesday evening, which plans to create dozens of jobs on this occasion in its Normandy factory.

"Delpharm announces today that it has entered into an agreement with BioNTech under which the group will manufacture the BNT 162b2 vaccine in its plant in Saint-Rémy-sur-Avre (Normandy) to prevent infections linked to the coronavirus"
, specified the company in a press release.
"Delpharm is due to start manufacturing next April and will produce several tens of millions of doses,"

said Stéphane Lepeu, deputy managing director of the company, quoted in the press release.
Earlier this Wednesday, the American Pfizer and the German BioNTech had revised upwards, to 95%, the effectiveness of their vaccine, equivalent to that of their competitor Moderna, after a first announcement on November 9 on a rate of more than 90%.
Owned by its management, Delpharm, which employs 4,700 people at 17 production sites, is a subcontractor for large pharmaceutical companies and claims to manufacture more than 900 million boxes of drugs per year, for a turnover of 800 million euros.
