Gone are the days when private clinics were owned by a few doctors, and had few beds.
From now on, the sector has strong groups, sometimes bringing together more than a hundred establishments.
In thirty years, the number of general clinics has been halved.
And the consolidation continues unabated.
On the front line in the Covid crisis, Elsan is strengthening its domination of the French market.
The number two in the sector, behind Ramsay Générale de Santé, bought from the Eurazeo fund for 400 million euros the regional group C2S which owns 17 establishments in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
