The unemployment rate in Canada rose last month to reach 8.6 percent after losing 63,000 jobs due to measures to combat the outbreak of the Corona virus.
Canadian Radio quoted Statistics Canada as saying in a statement today that in the latest labor force survey, the country lost 99,000 part-time jobs, resulting in a net loss of 63,000 jobs in Canada.
The total number of working hours across the country decreased for the first time since last April by 0.3 percent.
