Innovations and products subject to quality analyzes and requirements for the production of honey, beehives, medical and food industries were the most important exhibits for beekeepers in the second Syrian Honey Festival.

The festival, which is organized by the Arab Beekeepers Union “Syria Trust” in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform under the title “Honey ... A number of beekeepers confirmed to the SANA delegate that the festival is a communication link between beekeepers to learn everything new in the world of bees and honey, as Eng. Lama Al Hallaq, Head of the Bee and Silk Department in the Plant Protection Directorate at the Ministry of Agriculture explained that the importance of the festival lies in introducing local Syrian honey, its quality and types, in addition to exchanging experiences between Exhibitors, knowing the experiences and benefiting from them optimally, especially providing encouraging prices for the cells, pointing out that the Ministry's participation is represented by displaying the products of its affiliated centers spread in the governorates and the production requirements of wood and bee houses.

For his part, Ahmed Ajaj indicated that his participation was represented by displaying the wooden supplies for bees of various forms, such as cells, dryers, tires, pollen traps, queen barriers, in addition to other bee supplies such as boxes and decorations.

A number of beekeepers presented their innovations that help overcome the natural obstacles imposed on them, as the beekeeper designed a distillation device capable of extracting oils and distilled water, and he also designed a hive that has a specific mechanism capable of keeping bees for 17 hours and through which he can produce an incubator that supports an apiary consisting of 100 cells. .

For his part, Rayan Ismail pointed out that it is his first participation in the world of honey, considering the festival as an opportunity to market products and requirements for honey production and to emphasize the gradual return of Syrian honey to local markets to what it was before the war in addition to introducing visitors to the importance of honey and its benefits, while Tariq Al-Shayeb stressed the importance of the festival And to participate in it to introduce national products that are used in the manufacture of honey, such as soaps, shampoos and cosmetics.

For her part, Dalin Saqr pointed to the importance of the festival and its role as a direct communication channel between the consumer and the honey producer, pointing out that the festival this year is distinct from the previous festival in terms of interest, organization, arrangement, diversity and quantity.

Omar Daaboul, a member of the Arab Beekeepers Union, explained that the festival brings together the consumer with the product directly and without an intermediary, which facilitates the delivery of healthy and original honey to customers who suffer from difficulty in accessing it, in addition to presenting products that already exist in larger quantities and new requirements, pointing to some of the difficulties and obstacles that beekeepers face Such as the high cost of fuel and the cost of some foodstuffs

A number of beekeepers expressed their hope that the festival would be a real start to overcome the obstacles of beekeeping in Syria and make optimal use of the material resources that could be provided by this sector and benefit from the inventions presented by the beekeepers at the festival.
