The specter of a white season, feared since Christmas by mountain professionals, is fast becoming a reality.
Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State for Tourism, made it official on Wednesday:
"The scenario of the white season is now the central scenario."
Stopped since March 15, the ski lifts should not be restarted until next winter, which will lead to an avalanche of economic disasters.
80% of the season's activity thus risks going up in smoke, or at least 8 billion euros.
