The meeting of the Prime Minister, Engineer Hussein Arnous, with the Board of Directors of the Joint Syrian-Iranian Chamber of Commerce, focuses on strengthening economic relations, increasing trade exchange between Syria and Iran, and expanding joint investments that support the national economy and provide the requirements of the production process.

Arnous stressed the need to develop the Chamber’s work mechanism to be able to participate in the reconstruction phase and develop the export sector, especially the Syrian products that are desired in the Iranian market, especially olive oil, stressing the importance of bartering products between the two countries in a way that contributes to obtaining the local market’s need of basic materials and requirements. The Prime Minister called on the Chamber’s Board of Directors to make utmost efforts to direct joint investments towards developing cities and industrial zones and restoring factories and factories affected by terrorism, indicating that the government is ready to provide support to the Chamber to establish joint exhibitions and to find cooperation agreements that ensure the flow of goods and materials to the markets of the two countries in a way that contributes to confronting The economic blockade imposed on the two friendly peoples.
Eng. Arnous reiterated the important role of economic and commercial activities in increasing intra-trade and upgrading the level of economic relations between Syria and Iran.
The proposals dealt with the need to develop the Olive Office to organize the olive oil sector in Syria and to provide the necessary support to enhance investment, address some export restrictions, establish a committee for specifications and standards for exchanged goods, in addition to establishing a joint Syrian-Iranian bank through which monetary transactions for commercial exchange are completed.
