The crisis explodes the controls of the labor inspectorate

2021-01-26T17:37:42.406Z

Since the start of the epidemic, the services of the Directorate General of Labor have carried out 64,000 interventions related to compliance with regulations in the company.

In the space of ten months of health, economic and social crisis, the Labor Inspectorate has not been idle ... The Director General of Labor (DGT), Pierre Ramain, in post since mid-October, said Tuesday morning the

"very strong"

mobilization of agents from its services: since the start of the Covid-19 epidemic, they have carried out more than 64,000 interventions related to compliance with regulations in companies.

Of these interventions,

"more than 38,000 gave rise to action, including 400 formal notices addressed to employers"

who brought themselves into compliance in

"93% of cases"

, he said during a videoconference with the Association of Social Information Journalists (Ajis).

Its deputy director, Laurent Vilboeuf, specified that these 400 direct formal notices, largely relating to the proper application of the health protocol in companies - including teleworking - represent a real

"explosion".

Usually, the Directorate General of Labor has

"between 40 and 60 per year"

- almost ten times less than in 2020. FedEx and Amazon were cited as poor performers.

In terms of health and business contaminations, Pierre Ramain mentioned

“3,900 clusters investigated since the start of the health crisis”, of

which

“1,900 considered to be still active”.

More than half of these clusters concern the health and medico-social sectors.

The survey of regional health agencies and decentralized services of the Ministry of Labor also shows that contamination mainly takes place in situations around collective catering, convivial events on the sidelines of work or during carpooling.
