About 200 farmers demonstrated Tuesday, February 2 in Aurillac against "

", said a union representative.

“
The livestock situation is catastrophic, we feel abandoned,
” said Mathieu Thérond, president of the Young Farmers (JA) of Cantal.
The demonstrators are protesting in particular against the postponement of the drought file for the summer of 2020, the study of which has been postponed for a month, to February 18: "
we will have to wait another month to be paid and finance the fodder
", deplores Therond.
Accompanied by a dozen tractors, the farmers dumped nearly 100 tonnes of manure in front of the prefecture and walled up its entrances with concrete blocks, launching slogans "
Manu sprinkles
" or "
From Normandy you lied we have no price!
"
The price of raw materials is exploding, that of grazing animals is falling and the State is withdrawing, it has not succeeded in making the various actors work together
", added Thérond, specifying that manure had already been dumped in the night from Monday to Tuesday in front of several treasuries of the canton.
Farmers also fear a drop in support for mountain breeding, which has been confronted for several months with the proliferation of voles, causing significant damage in the meadows.
