A witty Twiter user wrote a phrase that raised dust on that social network: “I come to bring you peace of mind:
$ 99 gasoline does not pass.
The poster has no more digits, ”he wrote.
However, in a market where fuel prices are constantly adjusting, the answer was not long in coming.
It was Axion, one of the oil companies in the market, which offered the stationers in its network an explanation of
the way in which pumps can quickly reach a triple-digit figure.
Then, the oil company released an instruction manual for service stations on
how to proceed with this possible change in prices.
The proposed solution is
to move the decimal point to the right.
"Dear operator", starts the instructions.
“It is possible that the price of fuel will exceed two digits soon, going to be worth more than
$ 100 per liter.
"This will imply the need to make corrections in the position of the decimal point in: price posters, pumps, controllers and billing systems, adjusting the price to three whole digits and one decimal in all those systems that do not allow the display of more of four digits in total, "warned the company.
With this diagnosis, Axion Energy recommended in the instructions: to adjust the price posters, contact the supplier to advise you on the procedure to run the coma according to the Led system installed.
And he clarifies: "in those models with manual prices, the movement and adjustment must be carried out manually".
Regarding the change in the values at the pumps, the oil company suggested “contacting the usual maintenance service and arranging a visit to the service station to change the comma.
In addition, the company made available a number of a "help desk" of the oil company where the stationer should report: the matter (price change to three digits), and the date and time in which the technician could go. suppliers to implement the change.
The move has its justification: fuel prices have already increased three times so far this year: they accumulate a rise of 7.5% in gasoline and 8.5% in diesel.
The last was due to an increase in the cost of biofuels.
Thus, YPF's super gasoline costs $ 72.62 per liter in Capital Federal;
premium gasoline $ 83.93;
the D500 diesel, $ 68.17, and the Infinia diesel, $ 80.30.
According to the official schedule, biofuels are going to rise again in the next three months.
And another increase in the fuel tax is expected in March, which would bring the price
closer and closer to $ 100 per liter.
