The price of gold in the local market rose again today by five thousand pounds for the 21-carat gram, compared to yesterday, with the global price of an ounce rising to 1844 dollars.
According to the bulletin issued by the Handicraft Society for Crafting and Jewelry Making in Damascus, today the 21-carat gram of gold recorded 165,000 pounds as a sale and 164,500 purchases, while the price of the 18-carat gram reached 141,429 pounds per sale and 140,929 pounds to buy.
The association called on citizens not to buy any gold piece except according to the pricing issued by it, stressing that citizens can submit a complaint to the association or the Internal Trade Directorate in the event that any craftsman sells at a price higher than the specified price to take legal action.
