Swiss food giant Nestlé on Thursday reported net profit down 3% to 12.2 billion Swiss francs (11.2 billion euros) after a wave of sales and acquisitions.

Its turnover fell by 8.9% compared to the previous year, to 84.3 billion Swiss francs with the reorganization of its portfolio, said the Swiss group, which had notably separated from its skin care and ice cream businesses in the United States. However, this figure masks a clear increase in sales, boosted in particular by pet products, with organic growth returning to "
its highest level in the past five years
", at 3.6%.
