2021-03-02T15:22:50.131Z

The possible devices are currently under study and should be able to be announced within a fortnight.

The government could announce within two weeks a device to compensate for the loss of value of stocks that traders have not been able to sell during the sales, said Minister Delegate for SMEs Alain Griset on Tuesday.

"

We are going to look, within the framework of the solidarity fund, how to take into account the loss of value of stocks

", declared Alain Griset on France Culture.

The devices are currently under study.

There are several possible schemes.

I think that within a fortnight at most, with [the Minister of the Economy] Bruno Le Maire, we will be able to announce a device adapted to the needs

”, specified the Minister.

"

We will look in the next few days at the state of stocks

" and make sure that "

it does not weigh for the future

", so that the traders "

can tomorrow reinvest and buy new stock

", explained Alain Griset.

The winter sales, the launch of which had been postponed at the request of associations of small traders from January 6 to 20, were then extended from February 16 to March 2, but without meeting with great success with customers.

The sales took place while health restrictions were being tightened to fight the Covid-19 epidemic, in particular with the establishment of a curfew at 6 p.m., then the closure of shopping centers over 20,000 square meters.
