The Falcon 6X, the new business jet from Dassault Aviation (1) successfully completed its inaugural flight, as planned, in the first quarter of 2021. The aircraft, registered FWSIX, took off from the runway at Bordeaux-Mérignac airport which adjoins the Falcon and Rafale fighter plane assembly site, at 2:45 p.m., Wednesday March 10.
On board, two test pilots from the Dassault house, Bruno Ferry, a former air force and Fabrice Valette, a former air force.
The flight, which lasted just over two hours, tested the handling skills of the jet, the Pratt & Whitney Canada engines (PW812D) and the behavior of other onboard systems and equipment.
The aircraft reached an altitude of 12,200 meters and a cruising speed of Mach 0.80.
