This finding will not surprise anyone.
The open space has a great quality which is also its main flaw: the others.
Of course, they create animation, between the permanent concert of telephone ringing, the aroma of lunch that you take in front of your screen and the clicking of the keyboards ... Some people strum with as much enthusiasm as if they were playing a fortissimo of Beethoven or Liszt.
Above all, the others talk… They talk to their colleagues, they talk on the phone, they talk in video… Some champions even speak alone!
But the most annoying, the most unbearable, is the one who speaks loud, very loud, too loud without realizing it.
We hear him bellow from the other end of the open space.
To believe that he takes himself for Flaubert in his mouth.

Our loudmouth, it is not likely to go unnoticed ... The whole floor does not lose a crumb of his phone calls and his moods.
Of his laughter and his bloodshot.
Of his professional life as of his private life.
Obviously, the one who speaks loudly also has the tongue tight ... He is a great talker who is used to making tons without sparing anything to his neighbors who have no other solution than to stick to headphones in the ears, or even to put on noise-canceling headphones.

The great difficulty with this colleague is to tackle this thorny subject… According to a study that I scrupulously conducted on a panel of ten people who speak very loudly, 80% of them are very susceptible.
Even if we manage to tackle the problem, it is almost impossible for them to rectify their fault.
Human nature is made that way.
There is only one solution: colleagues who speak too loudly should have their personal desks, well padded.
If you have the bad luck to share your open-space with him, courage… As in a building, we choose our apartment but not our neighbors!
