According to a survey by the dpa news agency, the range of corona self-tests in German supermarkets is slowly increasing.

The retail giant Rewe has been offering self-tests for sale this week.

The drugstore chain DM announced that it would receive a delivery of self-tests for stationary sale from Friday.

Competitor Rossmann announced that tests were "in delivery".

According to their own information, Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd will start offering test kits in the branches again on Monday.

At the end of next week, the Rewe discount subsidiary Penny will follow suit.

Further deliveries are expected in the next few weeks until Easter.

Lidl, on the other hand, wants to sell self-tests via the online shop.

Aldi, DM and Rossmann also offer the tests on the Internet.

Germany's largest grocer, Edeka, was more cautious.

The retail giant only announced that it was planning to sell corona self-tests as soon as they were available.

He did not give a date.

The Edeka discount subsidiary Netto made a very similar statement.

So far, rapid tests have sold out in a very short time

At the beginning of March, the first quick tests that the discounter Aldi had offered throughout Germany were sold out in many places within a very short time (read here why Aldi was faster than Jens Spahn in corona tests).

The discounter once again pointed out that the tests could be sold out quickly due to high demand.

However, the markets continuously received new goods.

Due to the high demand, Rossmann limited the amount sold per household to four from the start.

In addition, every citizen can now undergo a rapid antigen test free of charge once a week (read more about the tests here).

A medically trained person takes the sample.

Here, too, the result is quickly available without laboratory diagnostics.

However, in some places this offer is still more of a promise by the government - there are also problems with these tests.

But a task force is supposed to ensure that enough quick and self-tests are available by April.
