China: taxis in the capital exchange their batteries

REPORT - With more than 10,000 electric drivers, Beijing is the first city in China, if not the world, to adopt this battery exchange system on such a scale.


After eight years of loyal service, Mr. Huang, a Beijing taxi driver, parted ways with his old Hyundai Elantra to take possession of his first electric vehicle, an EU 300 from Beijing manufacturer BAIC.
