Proof of the importance of the file, the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, received on Wednesday morning representatives of the shareholder family, cousins Georges and Cyrille Duval - the latter being a director of Eramet.
After weeks of strong tensions, the two parties, linked by a shareholders' agreement, are said to be on the verge of finding common ground.
The minister would have managed to save the head of Christel Bories.
