With the participation of 400 local, Arab and foreign companies and exhibitors, the activities of the third session of the Aleppo International Fair were inaugurated this evening in the Sports City of Hamdaniya, and included various products for the engineering, chemical and food industries.

In a statement to reporters, Industry Minister Ziad Sabbagh indicated to the importance of the exhibition, which expresses the return of Aleppo to its industrial glory and the rotation of the wheel of production in it, the recovery of the Syrian industry and its ability to stand again despite all the difficulties and challenges of the blockade and its natural position on the global economic map.

Sabbagh pointed to the role of the national product, including the building supplies, electrical equipment and software it contains, in contributing to the reconstruction and what terrorism has destroyed through the cooperation of the public and private sectors, noting the Ministry’s continuing work to provide everything that would stimulate the industrial sector to increase production.

In turn, Ali Nizam, Director of the Aleppo International Exhibition, pointed to the importance of the exhibition in highlighting the products of the Syrian industrialist and merchant who have proven their ability to withstand, overcome difficulties and keep pace with development in various fields, pointing to the diversity of the production of the participating pavilions of engineering, metallic, electrical, cars, foodstuffs, clothing and textiles, which indicates the recovery of the industry. Local and national, in addition to the participation of a delegation from brotherly Iraq to see the Syrian product and contribute to achieving commercial and industrial exchange.

SANA camera polled the views of a number of participants in the exhibition, where Ahmed Tibi explained that he participates in bales and machines for the manufacture of circular weaving, Sokoller, knitting and accessories, noting the role of the exhibition in its contribution to the recycling of production, industry and reconstruction between Nazem Kattan from the Electrical Equipment, Cables and Transformers Products Company. The importance of providing the necessary product for the development local industry.

Jumana Khot noted her participation in a group of furnishings, home furniture, wood crafts, accessories and decor, pointing to the exhibition’s role in seeing local products and delivering them to the consumer directly and at reasonable prices, while Hassan Kharqi explained that he offers his factory products of ghee, vegetable oils and soap products, as he returned to participate in the exhibition after a long interruption. Ten years ago, due to the suspension of his factory due to terrorism, today he returns to production and to contribute to supporting the local market with national production.

Ammar Al-Youssef, director of the ready-to-wear company in Aleppo, indicated that the company’s pavilion contains the products of the General Organization for Textile Industries, including carpets, ready-made clothes and textile fabrics, with the aim of introducing the national product in the local market and achieving direct selling to the consumer at competitive prices. Coffee and tea, offering offers at reduced prices to the consumer, noting the great demand for the exhibition with the start of the first hours of its opening, which was confirmed by Hussein Hamadeh, who offers a variety of incestuous products of good types and at an affordable price to ease the burden on shoppers.

A number of Iraqi businessmen and merchants who visited the exhibition indicated its importance in getting acquainted with the Syrian products, as Khudhair Al-Shammari, head of the Diwaniyah Contractors Federation, indicated his keenness to participate in the exhibition and visit it as an embodiment of the strong and historical relations between Iraq and Syria and to learn about the new in the Syrian industry and to benefit from it in the reconstruction of Iraq Naim Kadhim Hasan, President of the Federation of Iraqi Contractors, and Mahdi Saleh Al-Fouadi pointed out that the visit to the exhibition comes to know the Syrian production and to work on exporting it to the Iraqi market and contribute to supporting the commercial movement between the two countries.

Ahmed Yassin, deputy head of the executive office of the Aleppo Provincial Council, and Muhammad Nabhan, a member of the Aleppo branch leadership of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, and a group of economic actors participated in the opening of the exhibition.
