Airlines hang on to cargo

While waiting for the resumption of passenger traffic, carriers are trying to resist with the cargo activity.


One year already that air freight has emerged from the quasi-clandestinity where it was confined.

It is now a crucial source of revenue for companies.

"With the new travel restrictions, the contribution of cargo has increased significantly, to represent a third of our income,"

explains Christophe Boucher, Executive Vice President of Air France Cargo.

United Airlines, which has made more than 11,000 freight flights in passenger planes since spring 2020, continues at the same pace.

Korean Airlines, which flew 4,500 freight flights last year, wants to step up.
