Given the lack of buyers, the Chilean group Falabella announced that it

will close the last 3 physical stores it had in the country

.

In a brief statement, the Chilean capital group revealed that "In the context of the plan that Falabella is carrying out to make its operation in Argentina sustainable, the company will close the department stores located in Rosario, Unicenter and on Florida Street in The city of Buenos Aires"

Without giving too many details, Falabella reported that "as in previous cases, this process includes a voluntary retirement plan for all store employees who will cease their activities."

It is estimated that about 500 employees worked in the 3 stores

.

Anyway, the chain added that it will continue to sell only through the electronic channel.

The announcement coincides with the difficulties the company is having in finding a buyer.

In Argentina, it put up for sale all its subsidiaries of its flagship brand, the Sodimac stores and also CMR, its loyalty card.

Falabella never managed to attract interested parties.

The offers for Sodimac did not convince and CMR, which was about to be bought by the Supervielle bank, did not agree on the price.

In this way, the Chilean group reoriented the strategy and now seeks to revalue Sodimac before selling it.

What is moving forward is the plan to close all Falabella stores due to the lack of interested parties.

After months in a state of alert aggravated by the last closing of branches in the country

, representatives of the mercantile union announced this Tuesday the departure of Falabella from Rosario.

The company has already communicated the decision to more than a hundred workers and there is uncertainty around the payment of compensation.

Currently there are about 110 people working in the property that the Chilean chain occupied at the end of the 90s to take over the La Favorita post.
