The LafargeHolcim group, resulting from the merger between Lafarge and Swiss company Holcim in 2015, announced on Friday its intention to simplify its corporate name, to be called simply Holcim.

This modification must be approved by the shareholders at their next general meeting on May 4.

Trademarks, including Lafarge, will continue to exist.

It is indeed a page in French industrial history that is turning.

Lafarge was born in 1883, in Ardèche.

Its name comes from that of its creator, Auguste Pavin de Lafarge.

The company has grown over the decades.
