Discover the ranking of companies where it is good to work

EXCLUSIVE AWARDS - The Best Workplaces award recognizes employers who cultivate quality of life at work. This attention paid to employees takes on its full meaning at a time of the pandemic.

It is not a question of happiness but of quality of life at work

, recalls Patrick Dumoulin, president of the consulting company Great Place to Work France.

Happiness is a personal appreciation that belongs to every employee.

The quality of life at work, on the other hand, is the responsibility and commitment of the employer. ”

It is therefore this quality of professional life that Great Place to Work strives to measure every year by auditing companies that call on its expertise to improve their employee experience.

The 2020 list of companies where it is good to work

Of the 192 companies certified by Great Place to Work, 79 have obtained the Best Workplaces label and appear in the 2021 list

“What is rewarded and acclaimed,

explains Patrick Dumoulin,

is the attention that managers bring to their employees and the sincerity of this commitment, whether in management, organization or the working environment offered by the company to its teams. ”

Force of things

Interest for employers?

This attention to professional development actually begins a virtuous circle.

In a management of confidence, the employees gain in efficiency and the impact is positive on the result of the company.

Patrick Dumoulin, President of GPTW.

“The successful employee experience has a positive impact on customers,”

adds Patrick Dumoulin.

And a great company to work for will more easily attract the talent it needs to grow.

By force of circumstances, one year after the outbreak of the health crisis, this 19th ranking of companies where it is good to work is a special vintage.

Employers are now also judged on their ability to organize remote work in the best possible material and psychological conditions, to ensure the right balance between professional and private life since the border between the two has become more blurred.

"The pandemic has badly handled all employees and has a strong impact on the organization of work,

analyzes Patrick Dumoulin.

Companies - such as those which appear in the Best Workplaces list - which had real managerial proximity have been more successful in maintaining the link.

They were thus able to demonstrate agility and responsiveness in this difficult period.

More than ever, whether it is towards their employees, their customers, their suppliers and all their stakeholders, companies must make a commitment.

They can no longer ignore their environment in the broad sense. "

This issue of the quality of life at work - and the Best Workplaces award shows it - is not only the concern of start-ups who are fighting to attract young talents who are increasingly demanding and who want to find meaning in their work.

In this 2021 ranking, there are also more traditional companies.

For example, Legallais.

The oldest in the ranking, this distributor of hardware products to professionals is celebrating its 132 spring this year.

Or Manutan, younger with his 50s.

Two very “old economy” companies which have been able to adapt, notably taking the Internet turn.

Or WL Gore et Associés.

Known for its flagship product, GoreTex textiles, this American family company is guided by values that irrigate its subsidiaries outside the United States.

The Great Place To Work valuation method

To assess the companies in the Best Workplaces ranking, Great Place to Work proceeds in two stages.

On the one hand, the Trust Index, a 73-point questionnaire, is sent to all employees.

For the survey to be validated, a minimum participation rate is required.

This rate varies depending on the size of the business.

On the other hand, the Culture Audit is a file completed by the company on its managerial practices.

This audit is carried out by a team from Great Place to Work.

The Great Place to Work certification is a first level of recognition awarded to companies that obtain a positive response rate to the Trust Index of at least 65%.

All companies certified during the year and having obtained a minimum score of 30 out of 60 in the Culture Audit are then eligible for the Best Workplaces ranking.
