A question of survival.
While France is currently reviewing the distribution of aid received under the common agricultural policy (CAP), some 81,000 cattle farmers in France are sounding the alarm.
According to the latest negotiations with the Ministry of Agriculture, the drop in coupled aid (linked to production) granted to them could thus reach 210 million euros in 2023, falling to 400 million per year.
In question: the reorientation of this coupled aid towards the vegetable sectors that the government wants to push.
The sum is substantial: it represents around 700 euros less per breeder and per month.
