After the boom generated by cryptocurrencies in recent times, the idea of paying for real estate with virtual currencies
is
already
thriving in the real estate market,
where transactions are of high value.
Thus,
Mercado Libre launched the first 100% crypto section within the platform,
dedicated to the sale of real estate.
The offer includes apartments, houses, PH, lots and land, among others, both in the City of Buenos Aires, as in Greater Buenos Aires, Santa Fe and Córdoba.
With the idea of spreading the news and adding new real estate companies that want to get involved in the initiative, the platform has just offered a free training on
blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.
More than 300 real estate companies and other actors in the sector from all over the country participated.
The presentation was in charge of
Leo Elduayen
, entrepreneur and lawyer, founder of
Koibanx
, and VP of the Fundación Bitcoin Argentina, who explained the different existing cryptocurrencies, the operation of the blockchain technology behind and its application in the real estate sector.
"
It is an important opportunity for real estate companies to be able to occupy this space,
" said the manager at the end of the talk.
From the initiative, there are already
seven real estate companies that added their offer
to the new section and it is expected that more will be added as the days go by.
The process for the buyer is very simple: the preferred property is chosen, currently published in dollars, the realtor is contacted and it is notified that the
transaction will be made in bitcoins at the exchange of the day.
“We are always attentive to the changes that occur in the market.
Bitcoin offers multiple advantages for real estate operations, both for the buyer and for the seller.
Today we launch the crypto section within Mercado Libre Inmuebles and in a few hours
there are already 75 properties available
.
We expect many more as the days go by, because far from being a trend, we see that it is a trend that will consolidate over time ", said, after the webinar,
Juan Manuel Carretero
, commercial manager of Vehicles, Real Estate and Market Services Free.
According to
Gabriel Brodsky
, CEO of the Predial firm, the use of cryptocurrencies can begin to be a facilitator of real estate businesses
due to the advantages that its payment method presents, "he
said.
The money transfer is done immediately
, as well as the accreditation in the destination account.
"
There are no geographical limits
to make the transaction and the costs are much lower than if one had to do it through the traditional system," he explained.
Although the CEO of Predial admitted that
operations of this type are still very scarce,
his clients have already begun to show interest and
inquiries have grown.
According to projections made by Brandon Mintz, one of the promoters of bitcoin, its value will reach US $ 100,000 before the end of the year, a little more than double what it is currently trading.
