The affected sausages can be recognized by their bitter taste: The sausage producer Meica from Lower Saxony is recalling several batches of its bratwurst brand Bratmaxe.
Due to a technical defect in a cold store, it cannot be ruled out that there may be differences in taste in the products, said the company in the Ammerland district.
The products could have come into contact "in individual cases with very small amounts" of a water-refrigerant mixture, it is said.

According to the company, the products mentioned are "not suitable for consumption".
However, due to the bitter taste and the very small amount entered, a health risk can be ruled out.
According to the information, the defect could be precisely limited in time and was therefore remedied.
According to the company, various pack sizes with best-before dates between June 30 and July 15 are affected.
Consumers who have bought products from the batches concerned can return them to the supermarket and receive a refund of the purchase price even without presenting the receipt.
