The CBS today publishes data on job vacancies in the economy, from which a worrying picture emerges again that shows the depth of the problem created by the outline of the Knesset.
While a record number of vacancies, more than 130,000 job seekers awaiting, in practice and even though according to the data, there are about -446 000 unemployed, no one is rushing to report to work - and prefer to take advantage of the layout of the leave to the end and enjoy unemployment.

Most jobs, in the hospitality and restaurant industry
• In the total population of the survey, the number of job vacancies was about 130.3 thousand jobs in April, this is the highest estimate observed since the beginning of the survey in 2009.
• The vacancy rate for April is 4.86% compared to 4.63% in March 2021.
• The vacancy rate in industries Accommodation and food (hotels and restaurants) reached a high and exceptional value and stands at about 18.6%, which means that for every 100 employed in these industries there are more than 18 jobs waiting to be filled.
• A comparison of the report of the number of employed persons in April compared with March shows an increase in employment in parallel with an increase in demand for workers. The sharpest increase was found in the hospitality and food industries, where the number of employed persons rose sharply from 97.5 thousand to 132.6 thousand employed persons.
• By district, it can be seen that in all the districts the number of vacancies returned to its pre-crisis level. In the Tel Aviv District, the number of job vacancies is significantly higher than its pre-crisis level and stands at 33.9 thousand job vacancies.

The report also showed that the number of vacancies was highest in Tel Aviv, together with the other Central Region "held" by nearly 60,000 job opportunities when the smallest number of jobs in an area of Jerusalem (including Judea and Samaria) and Haifa.
