The French major Total is continuing its shift towards carbon-free energies.
The group announced on Wednesday an acquisition of a stake in the Parisian taxi company Hysetco, which operates around a hundred hydrogen taxis and aims to convert 10% of its fleet to this new energy for the 2024 Olympics.

More specifically, Total acquires 20% of the capital of the company managing the infrastructure of the taxi fleet.
“After investing in the new Belib 'network of charging stations for electric vehicles, Total wants to help make Paris the showcase for new carbon-neutral urban mobility for professionals and individuals,”
said the CEO of group, Patrick Pouyanné.
Total wants to participate, alongside other Hysetco shareholders (Air Liquide, Toyota, Kouros and the Paris Electric Taxi Company), in the development of hydrogen charging stations for a large captive fleet of taxis.
Today, Hysetco operates two of these stations and aims to install around twenty of them in Greater Paris and Île-de-France - including one quickly at Roissy airport.
