Is the e-commerce boom a lifeline for La Poste?
While mail volumes are declining at high speed - the drop was 18% in 2020 - parcel delivery is the main driver of growth for the public company, along with local services.

The figures are dizzy and more like those of a start-up than those of an institution over half a millennium old: Colissimo, the branch that processes ordinary parcels delivered by postmen, should reiterate its performance for 2020 and see its volumes rise by 28% this year;
in the first quarter, the number of packages handled by Chronopost, the day-ahead delivery branch, jumped 33%… Amazon is now La Poste's number one customer.
The public company defends itself well against its competitors.
In the delivery of parcels for individuals, Colissimo gained market share last year, exceeding the 50% mark.
Its share even climbs to 80% for home delivery.
