On Saturday, I received a message from my mom's girlfriend. She announced that her uncle, Emanuel Sharon, had passed away. I immediately opened the internet to see if there was any information about it on one of the sites. I did not find. Not even a little knowledge.
The truth is, the sites are right that they were not in a hurry with this news. Emanuel Sharon was a Golani lieutenant colonel, did a doctorate in mathematics, was one of the first computer scientists in the country, was the first director of the Kibbutz Seder headquarters and then was chairman of Bank Hapoalim for six years, including when the bank became a privately owned .
Besides, he is also one of the people to whom we all owe a great debt of gratitude for the fact that the State of Israel did not go bankrupt: in 1985, he was the director general of the Ministry of Finance, and had a very important role in the stabilization program. The program puts Israel on a path that has turned it from a country whose government has almost 200% debt-to-GDP, to a country that receives A + rating from companies even though it has been run for more than two years without a government and a year and a half without a budget. His is not something that is important to report: In the State of Israel where there is news every day, who can remember the one who saved the state 35 years ago?

For some reason, I made a connection between the huge headlines that the former finance minister, Moshe Kahlon, was about to receive a salary of NIS 8 million for working four days a week at a company that offers interest-bearing loans of more than 20%, and the silence in which the news of Emanuel Sharon.

Moshe Kahlon, on the other hand, is very far from being lonely.

Therefore, one can deduce something from the silence in which the news of Emanuel Sharon's death was received.
Emanuel Sharon made a good profit.
But he spent most of his time in the public sector, earning public sector salaries.
Because of this, his death is not interesting.
So unlike anyone who came out criticizing Kahlon, I actually think he's right.
In a country that does not give respect to those who served it, then those who can, who will at least make money.
