A consortium led by Alstom has won a contract worth around 1.3 billion euros, of which "
nearly a billion
" for the French railway manufacturer, to supply the rolling stock and signaling of the "
Tren Maya
", a new rail link in Yucatan, Mexico.

Alstom must supply 42 trains as well as the entire signaling, communication and traffic management system for this line of more than 1,500 kilometers, the group said in a statement on Wednesday.
