Stocks on Wall Street closed higher today and the S&P 500 index reached its highest levels at the close.
Reuters reported that the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 12.21 points, or 0.04 percent, to 3445.35 points, the Standard & Poor's 500 index closed up 19.71 points, or 0.47 percent, to 4239.26 points, and the Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 106.86. / points or /0.77/% to /14018.61/ points.
