The regional office of the Union of Arab Exporters and Importers in Syria, in coordination with the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade, launched today its Arab economic activities to support and revitalize national exports, during a ceremony held at the Sheraton Damascus Hotel.
The ceremony witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the regional office of the union in Syria and the management of the union of Arab exporters and importers to launch the mentioned activities and announce the new board of directors for the regional office in Syria.
The Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Exporters and Importers, Musaad Rashid, said in a speech during the ceremony that the future is better for the Syrian economy, and there will be investment plans and plans to boost exports, fight poverty and unemployment, and infrastructure investments.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Regional Office of the Union in Syria, Muhammad Al-Sawah, confirmed in a similar speech that the office will be supportive of the movement of Syrian exports during the coming period and will contribute to removing the obstacles facing it in all Arab countries, especially those related to transport, remittances, investment and shipping.
In a statement to reporters, the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil said that the new launch of the regional office of the Union of Arab Exporters and Importers in Syria was preceded by great preparations in order to activate the work of the office in directions that benefit Syria and to invest all existing energies in the country, whether at the level of the private or governmental sectors, so that it would be The office has a supporting role for Syrian exports and promoting them in Arab countries.
Talal Qala Ji and Muhammad Samer al-Dibs, members of the Board of Directors of the Union’s Regional Office in Syria, indicated that the office, with its new management, will be a “beehive” to work in order to activate Syrian exports to all Arab and European countries and thus will have a major role in mitigating the negative effects of coercive economic measures. The ceremony was attended by a number of members of the People’s Assembly, the governor of the Central Bank of Syria, a number of diplomats in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, representatives of Arab and foreign embassies and missions in Damascus, presidents and members of the union councils, chambers of commerce, industry, agriculture and Syrian tourism, businessmen, economic figures, and managers of banks and banks.
