Within two years, Europe will have its first large-scale “green” cement plant.
It will be located in France, in Xeuilley, near Nancy.
The Danish engineering group FLSmidth, world leader in cement plant equipment, will deliver it in 2023 to the French international cement manufacturer Vicat.
It will produce 400 tonnes per day.

This production unit will operate with calcined clay, which will replace up to 40% of clinker (the main component concentrating CO2) in the composition of the cement.
Enough to allow this cement to have a carbon footprint 16% lower than that of its conventional equivalent, according to the Danish equipment manufacturer.
All without compromising the strength of the cement.

says Carsten Riisberg Lund, president of the group's cement division.
