Health pass: Medef requests postponement for employees to September 30

This is what the Medef asks after the announcements of Emmanuel Macron on July 12.

The entry into force of the obligation concerning the employees of these establishments is, for the time being, set for August 30.

The latter must have completed their vaccination schedule or undergo a screening test every two days.

For the boss of Medef, Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, this date of August 30 is "

a huge handicap to the recovery"

He thus underlines the difficulties that employers will encounter in the face of suspended employees, added to the current lack of manpower from which certain sectors such as restaurants suffer.

The union also denounces the obligation for these places to hire people vaccinated from September 1, and indicates that they have

"Proposed to the government to leave, at least, one month of delay during which an employer can hire an unvaccinated candidate, with a condition precedent in the contract if the person does not fulfill his commitment to be vaccinated"

As for the dismissal of employees who refuse to comply with the health pass, the Medef asks

"that the indemnities be the responsibility of the State and not of the employer"

. The bill provides for a

"suspension of the employment contract, obviously without remuneration"

The question of shopping centers

Besides the calendar, he underlines another point of disagreement: the application of the health pass to shopping centers. On Tuesday, the government decided to maintain this obligation for those of more than 20,000 m2 despite the unfavorable opinion of the Council of State on this subject.
