The Basic Food Basket (CBA), which is taken as a reference to estimate levels of indigence, considers "the essential kilocaloric and protein requirements for an adult male of 30 and 60 years of age, with moderate activity, to cover those needs for a month" .
Based on these specifications, equivalences are projected to adapt the "nutritional requirements" to the needs of "each member of a household."
The Total Basic Basket (CBT) is expanded with "non-food goods and services" and is used to measure poverty.
