After last year there was a sharp decline in the value of gifts, compared to what was done in 2019. The data show that at the top of the rewarding industries are high-tech and financial industries, where the average value of the gift is NIS 500, a figure that reflects 11% last year.

A dramatic increase of 100% was recorded in the restaurant industry, where the value of the gift jumped from an average of NIS 130 last year to 260 this year.

In the advertising and public relations industry, employees will receive a gift of NIS 370, and in the insurance agencies there is an impressive 52% increase, from NIS 230 in 2020 to NIS 350 this year. Why is there a jump in all sectors of the economy?

According to Dagan Ronen, co-CEO of Hi-Biz, a company that manages consumer clubs (including Hitekzon): "Last year, quite a few companies and businesses had to significantly tighten their belts, but this year, following the improvement in business results, We also see an increase in the value of the gift.

Also, in previous years, a significant portion of the welfare budgets in organizations was earmarked for company event productions, but again this year, due to the corona, many of them were eliminated or significantly reduced, leaving a free budget, which many companies channeled to buy more expensive gifts for employees. .

More gifts made in the country

The Hitekzon Consumer Club provides companies with a special trading site where employees can choose a gift from a range of options. Products sold include: WIRELESS and AIRPOD headphones, King clean and Dyson vacuum cleaners, gaming chairs and ninja brand products.

According to Ronen, unlike in previous years, this year we included in the mix, more gifts made in Israel to help local businesses. These are many thousands of 'pops', bedding and luxury packages of olive oil that have been purchased and distributed to employees. At the same time, there was also an increase in the number of employees who chose to realize the benefit in the form of receiving a voucher for prestigious chef restaurants. He also notes that unlike in previous years, many employees choose to upgrade the gift for an additional fee when the hit is 65- to 75-inch-wide TVs, many of which, according to Ronen, have been sold in recent weeks. In his estimation,This is because of the money saved from the reduction of the traditional summer vacation that is directed in favor of equipping and upgrading the house as well as the need to make the stay in the home space more pleasant.

Rate of companies that will give gifts to employees this year

Data from Sting Systems also shows that this year, there was also an increase in the rate of businesses that will give their employees a gift for Rosh Hashanah.

According to the data, the rate of small businesses is 61% - a figure that reflects an increase of 9% from what was done last year.

An increase of 8% was recorded among medium-sized businesses, of which 85% this year will give a gift to employees.

A minor increase of 1% was also recorded among the large businesses.

Distribution of gift value in the high-tech industry

According to Hitakzon data, 45% of employees in the industry will receive a gift this year with an average value of NIS 401 or more, while 37% will receive Tishrei Shai holidays with an average value ranging from NIS 301-400.

The rest of the workers in the industry will be provided this year with a 'modest' gift worth up to NIS 300.

The High-Tech Zone survey also shows that the vast majority of high-tech workers {75%} will receive a tangible gift this year, 14% of employees will receive a gift card voucher, and 12% will receive food vouchers, with Shufersal's usual dominance.

None of the other food chains was able to produce an alternative that would bite into the share of Shufersal and among the organizations surveyed, the proportion of those who offered purchase labels of other chains was negligible (3%).

According to Dagan Ronen, unlike in previous years, the digital wallet 'star' this year, which is charged a certain amount, according to the company's decision that allows the employee full flexibility: he can choose several gifts from thousands of products or add an additional amount and purchase a higher value product.
