Sending mail will cost a little more in 2022. La Poste announces, this Monday, a new price increase for several of its stamps and other items from January 1, 2022, in order to "ensure the sustainability" of its service .
On average, mail rates will increase by 4.7%, summarizes the company.
The red stamp, priority (delivery in 24 hours), will see the highest increase, from € 1.28 to € 1.43, while the green stamp (delivery in two working days), currently costing € 1.08, will rise to € 1.16.
“The price of the International Letter from 0 to 20 g will change from € 1.50 to € 1.65.
At this rate, customers will be able to send their letters to all countries of the European Union and the rest of the world, ”adds La Poste.
Small packages sent by the Colissimo service (less than 250 g) will keep the same price of € 4.95.
On the other hand, for heavier packages, prices will rise.
"Overall, Colissimo prices for individuals, all destinations combined (metropolitan, overseas and international) will increase by only 1.6%, to preserve their competitiveness," says La Poste.
An accelerated drop in shipments
“To make the sending of small items accessible, the postage of Green Letters followed by 100 g to 500 g will only increase by 1.6%.
A new 500g-1000g weight range will be created at 7.5 €.
Likewise, the increase in the international letter followed will be limited to 1.6% on the 250-500g weight range, ”the press release continued.
To save money, a solution is proposed: print your red or green stamps at home from the MonTimbrenLigne service, which will allow you to obtain a 3% discount "compared to the classic public rate".
Professional shipments are also affected by these price increases.
“For businesses, industrial management mail rates will change by 4.0%;
those of direct marketing will increase, to a lesser extent, by 1.7% in order to make it easier for companies located in France to promote their offers in a multi-channel approach, ”adds La Poste.
