with its allies against Iran after the deadly attack on an oil tanker managed by an Israeli billionaire in the Arabian Sea.

"Iran continues to act in a terribly irresponsible manner
," he lamented to the press in Washington.
“Iranian acts are a direct threat to the freedom of navigation,”
he added.
On Sunday, the Secretary of State spoke of an
"appropriate and imminent response"
in consultation with allies of the United States.
The oil tanker Mercer Street was the target of a drone attack in the Arabian Sea on Thursday.
The attack left two dead, a Briton employed by the security company Ambrey, and a Romanian crew member, according to the shipowner Zodiac Maritime, an international company based in London and managed by Eyal Ofer.
Israel, the United States, the United Kingdom and Romania have singled out Iran.
But Tehran has rejected these accusations.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran will not hesitate to protect its security and its national interests,"
Iranian Foreign Affairs spokesman Saïd Khatibzadeh warned on Monday.
It
"will respond immediately and decisively to any adventurism,"
he insisted.
