The Savings Bank announced that it has achieved advanced steps in its program to activate electronic payment services for customers with the bank, and is awaiting the approval of the Central Bank of Syria on the agreement concluded with one of the electronic payment companies licensed for this purpose.

In a statement to SANA’s representative, the general manager of the bank, Raghad Masab, explained that the bank will achieve a qualitative leap in the field of electronic payment services that will allow its clients to use money exchanges, bank cards and POS outlets to pay their bills and fees, whether for fixed telephone, electricity, transportation, and others by linking my exporters. The bills and the fee-taker on the one hand, with the savings bank on the other.

Maasab revealed that the bank’s board of directors is working to reconsider the controls and the ceiling specified for the low-income loan to raise it to 5 million Syrian pounds and simplify the procedures for obtaining it, whether in terms of sponsors or including compensation in the salary origin to enhance the competitive environment with the rest of the banks, indicating that this matter needs to be presented to Central Bank of Syria and obtain the necessary approvals for that.

Maasab indicated that the bank seeks to achieve a wider spread by creating new offices and branches and rehabilitating what is destroyed by terrorism to provide services to citizens, as it reopened and expanded its office in Rukn Al-Din in Damascus, and work is being done to rehabilitate and restore the bank’s branch in Bab Jenin in Aleppo city in cooperation with the Foundation Public housing to achieve financial access and disposal in densely populated areas.

The Director General of the Savings Bank indicated that there is a study before the bank's board of directors on all its offices and branches in the governorates to determine what will be rehabilitated and restored according to the available capabilities.

The Savings Bank announced yesterday the launch of a new product represented in granting a real estate loan to the scientific and liberal professions and includes some owners of crafts, workshops and small projects by financing them to purchase a residential or commercial property with a ceiling of 100 million Syrian pounds.
