Oil prices fell more than 2% to their lowest level in three weeks today, extending their sharp losses from last week, in the wake of the rise in the US dollar and fears that new restrictions linked to the Corona virus in Asia may slow a global recovery in fuel demand.
Reuters reported that the global benchmark Brent crude contracts ended the trading session as low as $1.66, or 2.4 percent, to settle at $69.04 a barrel, while the US West Texas Intermediate crude contracts fell by $1.80, or 2.6 percent, to settle at $66.48 a barrel.
