US President Joe Biden, who won a stage victory with its infrastructure projects, on Wednesday defended his other big vision of gigantic social spending so that
"the US economy works better in the long term for the families"
of the middle class.

“As we emerge from the crisis, it's time to put in place a long-term plan to rebuild America for the better,”
he said in a White House address.
"We need to make our economy work better in the long run for
middle class
families,"
he said, saying we want to
"make sure (the) historic economic recovery benefits everyone"
.
The US Senate voted on a plan for the renovation and development of US infrastructure on Monday.
It plans to inject a total of 1,200 billion dollars in roads, bridges, pipes and internet networks in particular.
But this is only one part of the great economic project of Joe Biden, who also wants to invest in what he calls
"human infrastructure"
.
By this, he means considerable expenditure in access to health care, in higher education and in the care of young children, in order to lower the sometimes staggering costs for American families of drugs or their children's studies.
3.500 billion dollars
The Senate approved Wednesday at dawn the framework of this program estimated at 3.500 billion dollars, almost the equivalent of the GDP in 2020 of the economic giant that is Germany. But as much as the infrastructure plan has been voted on by several elected Republican officials, the conservative camp rejects this social component altogether, which it considers too expensive and likely to drive up prices. Some centrist Democrats are also reluctant. Joe Biden, however, assured that his project was
"fully funded in the long term by starting to make the largest companies (...) and the super rich pay their fair share of taxes."
