Eng. Jamal Sheikho, head of the Al-Safira Agriculture Department of the Directorate of Agriculture in Aleppo, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the investable agricultural areas in Al-Safira area amount to 70,000 hectares of rainfed and irrigated lands with various productive crops. It contains more than four thousand hectares, in addition to the cultivation of sunflowers and vegetables, including tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and cauliflower.

He added that the agricultural extension units and technicians are keen to provide all facilities to farmers, including agricultural licenses, agricultural organization, tables and sensory statements to deliver production requirements with field visits to fields and orchards to provide the necessary advice and guidance.

SANA’s camera escorted the farmers to their fields in the Al-Safira countryside, where the farmer Hassan Jumaa Al-Ibrahim indicated that he planted 50 dunums of yellow corn and was keen to take care of it, water it and fertilize it, and put the crop in good condition. aquatic.

The farmer Abdullah Haj Hassan Al-Khatib said: I planted one hundred acres of fodder corn this year and adhered to the instructions of the engineers and technicians in the extension unit and the season is good. The corn dryer that was sabotaged by terrorism.

Rural women have an active presence in the cultivation and harvesting of crops. The farmer, Thanaa Muhammad, has planted an area of ​​8 hectares with corn and takes good care of it until the crop is harvested.

And the agricultural engineer Junaid Al-Saleh from the Department of Agriculture Al-Safira, during his follow-up to the growth status of the yellow corn and vegetables crops, indicated that the intensified agriculture constitutes an important tributary for the farmers during a short period during the summer season. Increasing the quantities of fuel for farmers to help them irrigate their fields during periods of interruption of irrigation water.
