The production value of the companies of the General Organization for Chemical Industries exceeded 22.283 billion pounds during the first seven months of 2021, achieving a development rate of 220 percent over the same period last year, which reached 10.141 billion pounds.
According to the production and marketing report of the corporation, which SANA obtained a copy of, the Arab Medical Company “Tamico” had the highest production value among the corporation’s companies, which amounted to 9,935 billion pounds, followed by the General Company for the Paints Industry Umayya with 4,392 billion pounds, and then the General Company for Shoes with 4.183 billion pounds.
The value of the production of the National Company for Rubber and Plastic Products amounted to 1,852 billion pounds, the General Company for Plastic Products in Aleppo 707 million pounds, the General Company for the Detergent Industry Sar 640 million pounds, the General Company for Tanning 409 million pounds, and the Arab Company for Rubber Products in Aleppo 162 million pounds.
The report showed that chemical companies were able, from the beginning of the year until the end of last July, to market a value of 19.246 billion pounds of their various products, at a rate of 111 percent of the sales plan, and a development rate of 209 percent over the same period last year.
According to the report, Tamico topped the chemical companies with a sales value of 8,563 billion pounds, followed by the General Company for Shoes, with a value of 3,742 billion pounds, then Umayyah Paints, with a value of 3,597 billion pounds, Al Ahlia Rubber 1, 827 billion pounds, Sar for detergents 640 million pounds, Aleppo plastics 335 million pounds, Damascus tanning 331 million pounds, and Al Arabiya Rubber 162 One million Syrian pounds, Aleppo glass 34 million Syrian pounds, and Damascus glass 11 million.
Director of the General Corporation for Chemical Industries, Dr. Osama Abu Fakhr, explained in a statement to SANA’s representative that this development in production and sales during the first seven months of this year is due to the full investment of the technical and human energies available in the corporation’s subsidiaries despite the challenges it faces, including the lack of labor and the lack of materials The primary and the necessary spare parts for machines and production lines, pointing to the work to overcome these challenges through the use of the expertise available in the companies and in the local market.
Dr. Abu Fakhr pointed out that the Corporation is working in coordination with the departments of its affiliated companies to develop their production capabilities through the rehabilitation and maintenance of existing machines, equipment and production lines, providing them with new machines and production lines, and opening new marketing outlets for companies’ products, which enhances the role of the industrial public sector in developing the national economy and achieving The best revenues for the state’s public treasury and meeting the needs of public and private entities from the products of the corporation’s companies with “the best possible quality at competitive prices.”
