The Michelin group announced on Wednesday that it would acquire 100% of the capital of Allopneus, the leader in France in the online sale of tires in which it already held 40%.

Michelin has not communicated any amount for this transaction, which has yet to be approved by the competition authorities.
The group had indicated that it had spent 60 million euros to buy 40% of the company in April 2015. Allopneus, founded in 2004 by the Blaise family, sells 3.6 million passenger car tires per year, controlling 40% of the French market in online sales to individuals, according to Michelin.

The company based in Aix-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône) also offers tire fitting services.
