The start of the school year is accompanied each year by its share of more or less happy novelties for household consumption.

This Wednesday, September 1 is no exception to the rule.

Gas, meal vouchers, Netflix subscription… This month, some increases are to be deplored, in particular for households equipped with domestic gas.

Other changes mark the beginning of September in the fight against Covid-19, such as the entry into force of the health pass for certain employees on August 31.

The details of the calendar concerning the health pass being available on our dedicated article, let's take a look at the “non-Covid” novelties in this one.

From September 1, Engie, the main supplier of natural gas, will increase its regulated tariffs excluding tax by 8.7% compared to the scale in force since August 1.

This increase varies according to the uses, as detailed in our article on this subject.

It will be “2.7% for customers who use gas for cooking, 5.5% for those who have dual use, cooking and hot water, and 9.0% for homes that heat themselves on the stove. gas ”, detailed on August 25 the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE).

APL on the rise for young people on professional contracts

The calculation of APL for young people on professionalization contracts is likely to evolve favorably.

In accordance with the APL reform, and to compensate for a drop in housing assistance that occurred in early 2021 for students on professional contracts, an income allowance, equivalent to the monthly minimum wage, is planned as of September 1.

It should make it possible to reduce the income taken into account for the calculation of APL and, consequently, to increase the amount of this important aid for young people. *

Free highway between France and Barcelona

To be delighted with the novelties of this September 1st, you have to take the road to the sun and go to Boulou (Pyrénées-Orientales) where the motorway section that leads to Barcelona becomes free for all motorists. The AP-7, one of the busiest highways in Europe, therefore drops the toll plaza just like other Spanish highways. It remains to be seen until when.
