Damascus-SANA

The Board of Commissioners of the Securities and Markets Authority issued a decision to re-trade the shares of “Syriatel” in accordance with the procedures followed in the Damascus Securities Exchange, provided that the start date of trading is determined by a decision of the Executive Director of the market.

The decision of the Board of Commissioners was based on the decision of the Administrative Court of Judicial Judiciary dated 7/15/2021 to end the judicial custody of the “Syriatel Telecom” company and the approval of the Minister of Finance in this regard, in addition to the company signing minutes of agreement with the Ministry of Communications and Technology and the Communications and Postal Regulatory Authority, in addition to electing a chairman and members of the Board Managing and appointing a general manager for the company.

The Securities and Markets Authority had suspended trading in Syriatel’s shares since the first of June 2020, in order to protect the rights of the shareholders in the company, and according to the Authority’s law, which allows its Board of Commissioners to suspend the trading of any security if it deems it necessary, and to issue instructions and perform all functions to achieve its goals related to protecting the rights of Citizens and stock investors.
